Specific Program Goals:
Food Roots exists to cultivate a healthy food system in Tillamook County. Food Roots supports increased diversification of our regional food economy. We imagine a vibrant rural food economy where producers are valued and acknowledged for their contributions. Food Roots works with community partners, both public and private, who want to revitalize our food system while reconnecting with our historical and cultural food traditions. We imagine a food system where all families, regardless of income, have access to healthy, fresh food. Food Roots understands that knowledge and appreciation of where food comes from is vital for these things to occur.
